From the 5 to the 10 July 2025 the fourth CCN International Youth Gathering takes place in Coventry. Providing a meeting place for 18 to 25 year olds from across the CCN Network, it is an opportunity to share with others concerned about peace and justice in today’s world.
Over these five days we will meet to explore what we can do to make a difference as those who have received God’s gift of Shalom - Peace. In worship, small group bible study, workshops and keynote sessions we will listen to each other’s story and learn some of the skills and knowledge needed to create new relationships to bridge the divisions of our communities and nations.
God’s reconciling love is good news for a world where many are fearful and face ongoing conflict and violence. Being part of this gathering will inspire you to be part of God’s mission of reconciliation, to be a generator of hope in difficult times and places.
The gathering is open to all and not just those who have a connection with our CCN Partners. The programme will include engaging with some of the diverse faith communities in Coventry and the West Midlands.
On Friday senior students from local ICONS secondary schools will share in an afternoon of activity centred on the Cathedral ruins. Monday evening will be a celebration of hope, as young people from churches throughout Coventry Diocese join us, along with guest speaker, Krish Kandiah.
An outline programme is available to download as a pdf file here.
The first CCN International Youth event took place in Germany in 2003, bringing together young people from across the network to meet and share their experiences of working for peace and reconciliation in their community. Since then CCN youth gatherings has taken place in South Africa (2006) and in Poland (2009).
To mark the Jubilee of Coventry Cathedral, the 2012 Youth Gathering will take place in Coventry, the spiritual home of the Community of the Cross of Nails.
